These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the You Better Walk LLC website and your engagement of dog walking and pet sitting services provided by You Better Walk LLC, an Ohio limited liability company (“You Better Walk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking services with us or using our website, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services
You Better Walk provides in-home and outdoor pet care services including dog walking, drop-in pet sitting visits, and bespoke care arrangements in the Columbus, Ohio area. The specific nature, frequency, and scope of services will be agreed upon during the onboarding process and confirmed in writing before services begin.
All dog walks are conducted as private, solo sessions - one dog per walk per session. In multi-dog households, dogs walk individually. This is a fundamental policy and not subject to exception.
2. Eligibility and Onboarding
Services are available to clients within our service area. Before services begin, we require a meet-and-greet to assess your pet’s temperament, health status, and care needs. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services at our discretion, including if we determine that a pet presents safety concerns for the pet, the walker, or others.
3. Your Responsibilities
By engaging our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information about your pet, including health conditions, behavioral history, medications, and any known aggression or anxiety.
- Ensure your pet is current on all required vaccinations and disclose any known health conditions that could affect care.
- Provide safe, secure access to your home and any necessary equipment (leash, harness, food, medications, etc.).
- Maintain a veterinarian relationship and provide emergency veterinary contact information before services begin.
- Update us promptly if your pet’s health, behavior, or circumstances change in ways that affect service delivery.
4. Pet Health and Emergencies
You authorize You Better Walk to seek emergency veterinary care for your pet if you cannot be reached and we believe immediate care is necessary for the pet’s wellbeing. You agree to reimburse us for any reasonable emergency veterinary expenses incurred on your behalf. We will make every effort to contact you before authorizing care and to document all decisions made.
You Better Walk is not responsible for illness, injury, or death resulting from pre-existing conditions, undisclosed health issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
5. Pet Behavior and Liability
You are fully responsible for the behavior of your pet. If your pet bites, injures, or causes damage to a person or property during a service visit, you agree to be solely responsible for all resulting costs, claims, and liabilities. You represent that you are aware of any aggressive or unpredictable tendencies your pet has and have disclosed them fully.
You Better Walk carries general liability insurance appropriate for pet care services. However, we are not liable for incidents arising from undisclosed behavioral or health conditions.
6. Pricing, Payment, and Cancellations
Service rates are provided during onboarding and are subject to change with reasonable advance notice. Bespoke care arrangements are priced individually. Distance from Upper Arlington, Ohio may affect pricing and is discussed prior to service commencement.
- Cancellations - We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee at our discretion.
- Payment - Payment terms will be established during onboarding. We currently accept common electronic payment methods.
- Holiday scheduling - Holiday and peak-season availability is limited and may carry adjusted rates. We will communicate this clearly in advance.
7. Key and Home Access
Any keys, codes, or access credentials you provide are held in strict confidence and used solely for service delivery. Access information is never shared with unauthorized parties. You are responsible for notifying us immediately of any changes to access credentials. Upon termination of services, you may request the return or destruction of any physical keys.
8. Photography and Social Media
We may photograph your pet during visits for the purpose of sharing those photos with you as part of our service. We will not post images of your pet, your home’s exterior, or any personally identifiable information to social media or public platforms without your explicit prior consent. You may withdraw consent at any time.
9. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate the service relationship at any time. We reserve the right to immediately discontinue services without refund if a client provides false information, a pet presents an undisclosed danger, or a client engages in abusive or harassing conduct toward our staff.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Ohio law, You Better Walk’s total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service visit in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the courts of Franklin County, Ohio.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active clients of material changes via email. Continued use of our services after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
